Courtney Goes to Law School

At this point in my life, I am unwilling to give up on my dreams. I am matriculating at Howard University School of Law (HUSL) because I believe that there is no institution better suited to prepare me as a rising civil rights attorney and future public servant. I have seen the glory of God, and I know that there is no task too great when you are called to serve. I’m relying on all of those who take the time to view this page to help me accomplish my goals and achieve my dreams.

I am blessed, privileged, and fortunate to have such a strong community of support as I enter a new chapter in my life. Thanks to family, friends, colleagues, sponsors, and mentors I earned a master’s degree in education policy and management at Harvard while applying to attend HUSL. HUSL offered me a very generous merit scholarship, but given my incoming student indebtedness I still don’t have the financial capacity to cover tuition and living expenses in Washington, D.C. To those of you who supported my earlier campaigns that made it possible for me to go to Harvard and take a LSAT prep course, I thank you once again and ask that you may be willing to continue extending your generosity.

I am not willing to squander this opportunity. I will continue to work hard, by earning this law degree and excelling academically. Please consider your continued investment in my education an investment in social justice and equity. I’m a low-income, first generation college student who has already beat so many odds to be where I am. I am not willing to stop now.
