Costs of running & advancing the website

I started the Whisky Resource project in February 2020 with an aim of building a website with a unique & new way of discovering whisky.

In 2023 I set about completely re-building the site and in a little over 3 months the site is larger & has more active users than I achieved in the previous two years.

Up until now the cost of running the site & implementing new features has been covered by me, as some of you know my day job is caring for my disabled son. The website is my coping strategy & way of keeping my mind active.

However, call me naive, but I didn’t not expect the site to have as many active and returning users as the analytic data is indicating. As such there have been instances of access issue for users due to demand.

I have recently, at my cost, upgraded my hosting services to cope with more demand.

I will be thankful for any donation you can make.

the £250 target represents how much the site costs to run per year plus an amount needed to purchase some additional features that over time I want to add to the site.
