Hello friends and family,
As you know, Cory is a very private and proud person and he finds it an extremely difficult task to ask for help, but he is going to have to at this point in his life. He is very uncomfortable asking for help, but as his friend, I really dont see another away. As most of you are aware of his family experienced a catastrophic loss in November 2016 when they lost nearly everything they owned in a tragic house fire. It has been very expensive to try and keep up with bills plus rebuild and replace from scratch. They have completely depleted their savings and a have been trying to accomplish the task check to check. They have suffered multiple other set backs from his car being broken into and with an over $2500 loss to a hit and run accident. Then in August, a homeless man attacked Cory resulting in costly ER bills and missed work. He has tried hard to work OT and pay everything. They were just starting to see light when Friday he went to the emergency department for what he thought was simple cellulitis in the arm he was stabbed in that turned out to be a massive deep vein thrombosis from his bicep to his subclavian vein. There were also labs indicating infection and that he was in rahbdo. The physicians really wanted to admit him but due to the stress of knowing the hospital bills would amount to more than they could handle, he persuaded them to let him go home. I know he is embarrassed to ask for help but at this point for his family’s sake I am asking that anyone who can help to please consider helping them. I sincerely want to thank all of the participants from the bottom of my heart. The Stephens are truly blessed to have people like you in their lives.
