Now & Then Dance Studios Needs Your Help

I have been the area director of Now & Then Dance Studios for 42 years.  In fact, we just celebrated our anniversary.  We have proudly served Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia over the years.

I never imagined that I would be doing this.  Given the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have followed the mandated stay-at-home orders, and temporarily closed our three locations.  Being in the service industry, this business is among the first to suffer in times of crisis.  I hear that it will be at least five months before things can get better.

For 42 years we have brought happiness to many lives.  While we teach people how to ballroom dance, it is also so much more than that.  We have choreographed the first wedding dance for many couples.  For some students this helps fulfill their lifelong dream of being able to dance.  We have helped people to cope with the pain of loss of a loved one.  We have helped mend many relationships, strengthen many marriages, and helped others with lack of self-esteem/self-image.  We have helped people recover from medical procedures and other physical challenges.

Now I’m faced with the challenge of continuing operation and having the funds to keep our teachers employed.  We have applied to all stimulus programs for small businesses, and have not received any aid.  The funds donated will help pay bills as well as payroll.

I will do everything in my power to keep this company going as long as I can.  I want to make it clear that we are not going out of business or closing down.   This is “my life”, and I would not be able to exist without it or our students.

We are not a large chain.  We are a small business, consisting of three locations.  I need your help.  Thank you.
