Cornwall Park Disc Golf Improvement Project

Cornwall Park Disc Golf Course is Bellingham's first and only official public course for the sport of disc golf. Since its beginnings in 1996, we estimate over one million rounds of disc golf have been enjoyed in the park! Over the last 25 years, the community has truly cherished this nine-hole course. It continuously provides fun and free outdoor recreation for all ages and skill levels.
Recently, the WDGC (Whatcom Disc Golf Club) submitted to the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department a proposal addressing improvements and upgrades. This plan specifically focused on helping to create a safer, more sustainable course, and also one that incorporated a bit more challenge and variety. All the while, continuing the regular flow and maintaining a layout friendly to all.
We are pleased to announce that we have received approval for these improvements and are now ready to get started!
At this time, we are asking the community for support and, if possible, assist in making these upgrades a reality. Any amount you can afford to contribute will be greatly appreciated by the many thousands of past, present, and future players who enjoy the park.
100% of all donations will go towards actual material costs. Volunteers will provide all labor. All collected funds and costs will be transparent and only go towards the Cornwall Park Disc Golf course improvement fund.
Course improvements include:
- Multiple new basket locations providing increased variety, challenge, and safety.
- Hole 1 relocation and re-design providing a safer and improved hole.
- Hole 5 re-design providing a safer and improved hole.
- Hole 8 additional long teepad for more challenge.
- Hole 9 teepad re-location providing a safer and improved hole.
- 9 New tee signs with hole diagrams.
- 6 New course info and caution signs to be placed throughout the park.
- 1 New course kiosk map showing the new layout.
- 500 ft. durable industrial netting to be used as tree protection.
- Misc. materials such as concrete, signposts, and various hardware.
