Cork Croí Fáilte Project 2021

Newsflash - Our family are coming soon!!  We've had another  - hopefully short - Covid related delay in travel. As soon as the flight ban is lifted in Lebanon, our family will be travelling to Ireland! We hope this will be as soon as the end of February or early March.  Once the family touch down in Dublin, they will do a 2 week quarantine in Dublin before making the trip to us in Cork! We really appreciate your help with getting ready to welcome them!! 

The Cork Croí Fáilte Project (CCFP) is a voluntary group that is helping a Syrian family who are recognised as refugees by the UNHCR to re-settle in Midleton, County Cork. The group is part of Ireland's Community Sponsorship Scheme and is supported in its work by Cork City Partnership, as Regional Support Organisation. Click here for more infrormation on Community Sponsorship in Ireland.  SECAD (South East Cork Area Development) are also supporting the group to meet the families' needs and help them settle in. 

CCFP are raising money to support the re-settlement of this Syrian family in Cork.  All funds raised are ethically managed by the CCFP and used to help support the families' re-settlement costs,  such as a deposit and advance rent on a house, household start up kits,  emergency medical / dental costs etc..   

The family who are coming to Cork have fled the war in Syria and are currently living in a refugee camp in Lebanon.  They are all ready to travel now, and just waiting for the flight ban in Lebanon to be lifted.  We are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a travel date!. 

When the family arrive in Ireland they will be welcomed by members of  CCFP  who will help them to settle into their new house, community and will support them to link in with various services and supports, such as schools, employment, health  etc.
