Corinne's Vet Hospitalization and Recovery

I have had many reach out to me as they would like to help with Corinne's (Owned By Yorkies) vet hospitalization and recovery. We are overwhelmed by your love and support of Corinne. It has been touch and go since Tuesday, Nov 26th when we first noticed her labored breathing about 9pm. By 11:30 pm I took her to the urgent care vet 25 miles away and they xrayed her and felt she had an enlarged heart. I had to leave her in the oxygen kennel with them until 7am when I could get her to her regular vet. Once at the regular vet, they immediately took her into the oxygen kennel as her breathing was at 67%. She has been there ever since (today is Saturday). Her oxygen levels have gone up to 87-95% in the oxygen kennel but when they take her out, they drop to low 70s within 5 minutes. Friday night she had a rather bad night and when I got the update in the morning I thought this was going to be it for her. The main vet, coming back from Thanksgiving holiday,  examined her and called me about 10am and let me know she actually is starting to improve and whereas the xrays look like an enlarged heart they dont hear a murmur. Her blood work had come back days ago that indicated an infection or inflammation that could be either pneumonia or enlarged heart. They had started her on a second antibiotic and she is finallu starting to improve even outside of the oxygen kennel after four long days and the noise in her lungs is reducing. They plan to keep her until Monday morning (two more days) to observe that she is and can breath on her own and to be sure that if it is indeed pneumonia and not the enlarged heart. They will monitor and make sure she gets make to a level where she is able to go home and they think Monday (12/2). I thank you for all the comments, support and love you all have shown Corinne and our family and especially the prayers! If you have followed us on Owned By Yorkies you know what a ham this little girl is! She is so loved at home and the world around. We appreciate you dear friends that have opened up your heart and want to help with her care. Hugs and puppy kisses.

She is at Payson Family Pet Hospital.
