Medical Treatment- Corina Claxton

On June 8th, my sister Corina was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma endometrium – a cancer in the uterus. Her case is extremely rare as it affects most women over the age of 55. This week, her oncologist discovered a tumor in her uterus and swollen lymph nodes that may be cancerous.

Her plan of trying to save her uterus and ovaries so that she can bear a child, are out of the question. She was given the option of having her ova preserved, and after that process is completed,  she will have a full hysterectomy with more biopsies to see if any further chemo or radiation therapies are necessary. She must begin fertility treatment immediately due to the small window of opportunity she has to preserve her ova. 

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the entire cost of treatment, and this is going to leave Corina and Shawn financially devastated, not only from the cost of treatment, but also from taking time off work to go to appointments and staying at home to recover from medication and the hysterectomy surgery. The entire family would be humbled and more grateful than you can imagine if you would consider helping out financially. The estimated out-of-pocket cost is around $30,000; $3,000 of which must be paid by this Tuesday, and another $4,000 in two weeks.

Asking for financial help isn’t easy for us, but the gravity of the situation has made it necessary to seek all the help we can get. May God bless you for your consideration.
