Corina & Antonio Housing Fund

My loving cousins Corina and Antonio Martinez had a terrible event happen during this holiday season.  Just last week, on the night of 12/20/2017 they suffered a fire in their home.  A spark from their screened fireplace shot threw and caught their Christmas tree on fire.  The Christmas tree was engulfed in flames within mintues. Even more sad, the first to discover this horrific site was their kids, Antonio Jr. (5) and Mariana (9).  Their family was barely able to escape, but luckily they did and they were physically unharmed. However, the emotional aspect of this all has been quite scarring especially for their kids. They ran to their neighbors, who they've considered friends all these years to call 911, and the neighbors heroically jumped into action trying to help put out the flames. Sadly the fire was unstoppable and the inside of their home along with many memories and irreplaceable mementos were completely destroyed. The Martinez family wanted to thank the Tracy Fire Department, which acted quickly and did all they could. 

Corina and Antoino have rented this home for nearly 5 years and the damage will not be repaired for 6-8 months. They are now staying with family until they can figure out what to do. Finding another home within their budget is exteremly difficult, not to mention most places require first and last month's rent plus security deposit.  Unfortunately, it appears that their renter's insurance isn't going to cover much of their losses.  We put a goal of $10,000 to cover furniture, clothes, and so many other personal belongings that are replaceable.  Additionally, this will help with their initial rental costs. This family of 4 has always had dreams of homeownership and this is another set back for them to eventually obtain their dream.  Right now, having a home to rent in the near future would be awesome for them to have something to look forward to for 2018.  

If you can spare anything right now, that would so awesome and much appreciated! These are good, loving and hard working people. Anything you can do would help them so much.  We have had a good year, and we are going to start this page off right. Shawnacy & I will donate $500.
