Corey Shaffers medical needs

Corey was shot in the back during an altercation at a gas station. He is paralyzed from the waist down. He is in Alaska and his family is in Tennessee. The expenses to be able to travel to see him are astronomical and he will need spinal therapy for an extremely long time.

GAINING INDEPENDANCE
Never thought getting out of bed would be soo exhausting. But everyday is a challenge to better myself and learn more about myself in this time of healing. Proud to say I got dressed on my own today. Made it into my back brace and into a wheelchair with no assistance. Being young and able to work on my own for soo long, I never thought these would be my words. I'm astonished with the amount of healing my body has done in such a short period of time. a strong will, goes a long way. but the power of prayer and the amount of ppl showing me support has gotten me this far this quick. I wanted to take this time to thank everyone who has sent me words of encouragement since my injury. On top of that, I really want to thank everyone for the words of encouragement to my family as this time in my life is probably harder on them than it is me. We are all Gods children and I'm in the hands of the ultimate healer. My family and I still have a long road to recovery, but all things are possible thru Christ who strengthens me.
