Corey Phillips

Dear Family, Friends and Associates of Corey Phillips:

My name is Kebris Miller and I’m respectfully writing to you all in hopes of raising funds for my best friend Corey Philips.  Our exceptionally strong brother, father, friend, teammate, coach and community leader recently experienced a stroke on Thursday evening October 8th right before coaching a high school football game in Savannah, Georgia.  As a result of this tragic event, Corey has total paralysis on his left side and is now struggling physically, emotionally and financially to recover from this unforeseen health nightmare.

When you hear the words kind, giver, champion, gentle, loyal or even resilient we often think of heroic figures, musical icons and famous athletes. But these are words that describes a truly extraordinary person named Corey Philips.  We all have 4 chambers in our hearts but I think Corey has 6 because has an abundant amount of LOVE that he pours into everybody that he meets.

As a FAMU alumni, everything in Corey’s professional journey has been associated with helping and uplifting others.  Initially, after graduation Corey worked at Savannah State University as a counselor directing the paths of young college students in a positively direction.  Next, he became the owner and founder of 912Foodtogo.com.  This was a quality food delivery business that provided top class customer service to the residents of Savannah.  He recently transitioned into a high school teacher at Beach High School.  He was recently voted in 2019 “Most Influential Teacher of the Year”!  In addition to being the Business Technology Teacher, Corey is also the Head Football and Head Soccer Coach.

Lastly, Corey has dedicated his entire life to helping and bringing joy to others! While in the hospital facing death; he was still worried about his kids, his students, his wife, his mother and his colleagues and the doctor had to finally say “Corey you must focus only on yourself right now if you are going to make it!” When I heard this, I wasn’t a bit surprised because that’s the kind of person my best friend Corey is.  On behalf of his family, they are humbly asking you for financial help to cover the excessive medical expenses associated with this tragedy.  I know times are hard but please help me show my beloved friend and yours just how much he means to us! Thanking everybody for the prayers love and support!!!
