Mia, who we all know as Yaya, has always given selflessly and supported others without expecting anything in return. Now, she and her family need our help. Her six-year-old grandson, Cordae, has been battling seizures since he was just one year old. After years of hospital visits and countless appointments, Cordae is now preparing for multiple brain surgeries in Dallas, a critical step in his long medical journey.

Yaya has spent months traveling back and forth with her daughter Brielle and Cordae, making sure he gets the care he needs. The expenses have become so overwhelming that Yaya recently had to leave her daughter and grandson in Dallas to return to Lubbock and cater a single event. The surgeries are just the beginning, and Cordae will have a long road to recovery. Our hope is to raise enough funds so the family can stay by Cordae’s side as long as needed, without worrying about coming home until his surgeries are complete and he starts his recovery.

Cordae is a fun-loving, outgoing little boy who has shown incredible strength despite his struggles. As he faces these major surgeries, we’re asking the Dirty Larry’s Family and our wider community to come together for Yaya and her family, just as she has been there for others.
