Concept: I think everyone in Coral Bay (and probably STJ, in general) is extremely thankful for the linesmen from BBC....they are working EVERY day to get us back on the grid. I've tried to come up with an idea to thank them all AND get $$ flowing back into our local economy.
This fundraiser is to provide 1/2 day local boat trips and food for these workers. I hope most of you will agree it is a "win-win" set up.
I've been in contact with the local BBC supervisor handling community relations. He said we could expect at least 60 (of the 100 folks here) would be all in for this. They are all clearly aware of the love here in Love City...now let's get them out for a little fun on the water with some food and beverages!!
60+ guys =8-10 boat trips + food. All services and funds will go to Coral Bay businesses. Any funds raised beyond the goal will be given to the BBC team to spend on food/beverages at local businesses.
I have no idea if this concept will work, but sincerely appreciate your consideration. There is $600 already committed from people I have talked with about the plan....I am not a fundraising person, but hope you will join us!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns. Just an idea I had to pay it forward and also help rebuild this community.
Time is of the essence, given the number of trips involved and logistics for planning them before the BBC gang finally heads home (still TBD and they are committed to staying (away from their family/friends during the holidays, I will add)).
Thank you Fly Away Charters and Triple B for supporting this idea!! I hope you get some much-needed income during this painfully slow recovery!!! I truly love my tribe!! XO
