Dreams really do come true. It can be easy to believe that the wild longings and faint whispers of your heart are superfluous and unattainable--but I dream differently. I believe that God gives and fully desires to fulfill them, surpassing our expectations. I do believe He is an extravagant God! I have the opportunity this summer to attend Harvest School of Missions with Iris Ministries, a dream that has long been waiting in my heart for His timing and open door.
The Harvest School is a three-month missions training school in Pemba, Mozambique, with an extended outreach opporunity to various locations around the world. I would have the honor of sitting under the leadership of Heidi and Rolland Baker, as well as many other international ministers and missionaries. I will be living with hundreds of children, going on outreaches in the bush bush of Mozambique, gaining understanding of how to minister cross-culturally, getting practically equipped for the physical challenges of third-world nations and living with many other passionate lovers from around the world learning and growing in the love of Jesus.
Attending Harvest School has been on my heart for many years; I was actually accepted after graduating high school, though the Lord said "not yet". So here I am again, stepping out in faith to believe the impossible. I can not do this alone. Not only do I need prayer support, but I have a great amount to fundraise in a short amount of time. With airfare, added cost of travel insurance, other necessities, and the outreach, the total cost is going to be around $8, 000. This is a high estimate, to include a possible international outreach (I do not know where this will be at this time!) and most of the cost is in airfare. My tuition for Iris is only $2,300 and I am estimating $2,000 or so for airfare to Mozambique +added costs for insurance, malaria meds, etc +airfare and outreach costs!
What can you do? PRAY. Pray and pray! Give! Know that you are sowing into the Kingdom with your giving and sowing into my life and heart for missions. I am so grateful for friends and family who love and support me as you do! I am truly blessed!
