My beloved hometown Kodagu has had to cope with unprecedented rainfall in the last 2 months, which has caused flash floods and landslides across the district. Kodagu located in the Western Ghats mountain ranges is the worst hit due to the southwest monsoon rains lashing down since the first week of June. More than 3,500 people have been rescued till Sunday in Kodagu including a two-month old infant and shifted to relief centres. Rescue operations are on in and around affected areas. At least 1,500 people are stranded in various parts of the district, but rescue officials have not been able to reach them due to bad weather and landslides. Food and basic amenities have been arranged at 31 relief shelters.

Local organisations and volunteers are assisting in the rehabilitation operation and I would request you kindly help by donating to the organization that we have decided to support, Puthari FPO. Please do the best you can to help out.
