Cool Boys Read Make It Count Campaign

Cool Boys Read, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes reading, writing, and academic excellence among children, particularly African American and Latino boys.  Our signature summer reading & writing program is led by parents who hold meetings throughout the summer, allowing the boys to engage in educational fun and build camaraderie as well as track their reading time. These activities oftentimes involve expenses such as folders, art supplies, paper, motivational prizes, etc. In addition, we host several events (a Kick-off, an Awards Celebration, and a Book Signing) each year. Our events and group activities are funded barely by member dues, board donations, and book sales.

We need your help!  Please join the Cool Boys Read Board of Trustees in the “Make It Count Campaign” to raise funds to cover some of the organizational and program costs that will help CBR manage the growth of our program.  We would like to raise $3,000 for programming, operational costs, materials, and resources, including but not limited to books, venues, and food for events. As your committed leadership, the Board has already given $1,000 to the campaign.  We hope that you will join us to improve the quality and scope of our program. Every donor will be recognized in our book this year, as well as at our Book Signing event.
