Cookson Crisis

Meet our crazy Cookson Clan!
Me aka Ava, Kelly aka Mom, Ella, and the ever elusive Gage! (Not shown, ever lol)
We are a silly, fun loving, close knit family. We've had some amazing accomplishments, and some terrible heartaches, but the hard times have shown our unbreakable bond.
To say this year has been difficult would be a ridiculous understatement. Both my mother and myself have been public with my battle with heroin addiction, and I have been fighting all year to rid myself of this demon. 51 days clean today!!!!
This has taken an immense toll on all of family as they have diligently stayed by my side and supported me.
In July of this year, out of the blue, my mother had a Pulmonary Embolism, which is a very serious medical condition, a blood clot in your lung. She was laid up and out of work for almost a month. All of her vacation and sick time were exhausted during this time. As soon as she was back on her feet, (before that even!), she was still fiercely fighting to get me away from heroin, and went back to work the second she could!
A decision was made after after I overdosed in September, that I needed to go out of state immediately to try to save my life.
When my mom got home from bringing me to the airport, she found a note from her fiancé, who she was supposed to elope with in just a few weeks, saying he "couldn't weather the storms" and all his belongings were gone.
My mother loved him heart and soul.
Just one these events happening individually would have the average person on their knees.
The name "Kelly" means warrior, fighter, and that she is! All 4'11" 100lbs of her!!! So she did what she does and kept fighting; to take care of her family, now left with half of the income we were used to, continuing to support me in my battle, work full time, and try to maintain normalcy for the 2 younger kids, all while she must have been just falling apart inside.
Well, the morning of October 31, she literally fell apart physically for a second time, and was brought from work to the hospital via ambulance where she was kept for 5 days. Her symptoms are serious and debilitating, including her oxygen levels plummeting when she walks around more than a few minutes and episodes of severe cognitive impairment.
As of right now, there are no real answers as to why she is so ill, just a million specialist appointments and testing taking place.
In the meantime, our  family is in dire straights. We have no income aside from child support and what little financial help our extended family can provide, but we might very soon to be without even basic necessities.
Mom swallowed her pride and applied for some food and heating assistance, but she still has all the rest of the household expenses to cover, and no way of doing this. She has done everything she is capable of at the moment, including studying for and managing a B on an exam to help her receive better pay when she is well. The day she got home from taking her exam she got papers in the mail from her employer saying she had been fired for "not showing up 3 days in a row".  (They have less than 15 employees so many of the laws protecting people from this happening do not apply to them)
She can't collect unemployment because she isn't cleared to work.
Anything you can do to help us would be so appreciated. Even now, being laid up, my mom is doing volunteer work to help raise money for recovering addicts, and had been studying for her exam,
because that's the kind of person she is. She's a fighter, even when she's down!
Right now, she's down....
Thank you in advance for helping my family through this difficult time, and please send positivity my mom's way that she will soon have some answers and be well.
