Coochie Island News
(CIN) is the newest newspaper on the block! We're an independent community newspaper based on Coochiemudlo Island, a subtropical island nestled just off Redland Coast, Brisbane.
Coochie Island News enables island and Redland Coast businesses, community groups, creative makers and island residents to introduce themselves, share their stories, advertise events and products and services that benefit our community.
500 black and white copies of this 20-page newspaper are printed and distributed monthly and CIN is available 24/7 (in colour) online. Print and online copies are free. FRIENDS OF THE COOCHIE ISLAND NEWS
We're seeking support to enable Coochie Island News to continue operation and provide local news. Early funds raised from this campaign paid for our publishing insurance. New funds will enable us to renew this insurance. We would also like enough funds to increase our print run to 1,000 copies per month, which will make a big difference to community groups and artists advertising events, products and services and it will make a big difference to island and Redland Coast businesses advertising in our paper. It may even enable us to have enough copies to place in Cleveland and Redland Bay newsagents (we are already in newsagents in Victoria Point).Any
contribution will be gratefully received from fans of the Coochie Island News. Thank you!
By making a donation of $25 or more on GoFundMe you automatically become a member of Friends of the Coochie Island News
. You'll get a mention on our website and will be invited to a once-a-year get-together to meet other Friends and contributors and community members featured in our paper.
NB: GoFundMe seems to think postcode 4184 is Russell Island, but this newspaper is DEFINITELY based on Coochie :)
The 5 South Moreton Bay Islands share a postcode. This is a Coochiemudlo Island newspaper.
