Converse: Bean on 42nd Street in NYC, NY

My name is Outspoken Bean and I've been a performance poet for the last 5 years. I have toured, competed in poetry slams, taught artist , and had the opportunity to assist children to unlock their own talent with this art form. Poetry is always in the fore front of my mind. I have literally seen the power of poetry transform the lives of people closest to me and people who I don't even know. I started flirting with the idea of performing while I was in college when I organized Prairie Views' first Nationally ranked Slam Team. We were number 8 in the country. That was the first time I experienced the power of community on stage, they backed me up 100%. In 2012 I premiered my one man show Converse at the Houston Fringe Festival and it was well received by the city. Since then it has grown legs and has toured from San Antonio, Texas to the Hamptons, New York, gathering fans along the way. Well, Converse has been accepted in another festival called United Solo, it's the largest solo performance festival in the world! It's in New York City on the world renown 42nd Street! This opportunity is a catapult for my career. The show is on Nov 19th at Theatre Row on 410 W 42nd Street at 9pm. I want this show to be a success, for many reasons. One being, United Solo has the right to cancel my show if I don't have enough seats sold by a certain amount of time (ASAP), but it takes money to promote. Also, there is cost for me to get there, secure my living space, to document it, and most importantly, PROMOTE IT! Being that I don't live in New York City it's a little more difficult to get the word out from Houston. That's why I am coming to you! I need your help to make sure the show is well represented in newsletters, publications, and reading materials to get a turn out. If you could help me out that would be amazing. I am looking to raise $1500. With your help, I know that it's possible.
