Yesterday we said goodbye to Kathey Saunders, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend after a lifelong struggle with muscular dystrophy and 17 years on a ventilator. She spent her last two weeks in a coma before passing quietly, surrounded by loving family. Kathey was a bright light and an inspiration to all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her love of books and language, all things Japanese, and most of all cats. She was my only sister and I don't know how to face the rest of my life without her.
Federal Medicaid law made it impossible for her to save for emergencies or even have burial insurance so it falls to us to humbly ask your help with this, her final expense. So many of you have given generously over the years when she was in need, as she gave to so many of you. Her loving husband, Joel, and I want to lay her to rest with dignity in a place where she will be marked and remembered. There was so little she wanted that we could actually give her. Please help us give her this.
