Urgent Support for Lebanese Families in Tulin Village
B.S.M John Doyle from 27Bn Aiken Barracks, Dundalk is looking for urgent help to support families in Tulin Village in the old A.O.R of IrishBatt.
The photo shows Abass Awala the interpreter who is know to us all, he has been in contact and tells of the severe shortage of support to the communities in Lebanon especially now as the local currency is so bad.
There is an urgent need for over 30 poor families who are in a desperate need due to the current situation in the country. The most important support this winter period is to provide these families with diesel for their heaters for at least 40 to 50 days.
The estimation is 40 days for each family needs at least 5 liters during 24 hours.
Per family : 5Liter X 40 days / family = 200
30 family X 200 liters = 6000 liters as a total.
The prices of petrol has gone so high in comparison with the Dollar and the Lebanese authority is no longer covering any part of the actual price
The 20 liters cost now 145,000 Lebanese pound which is equivalent to $8.28 cents each 20 liters.
If we divide 6000 liters to units 20liter will equal 300 unites/20liters .
Total Cost ; 300 unites X $8.28 = $2,484 US Dollars
S8 in the current UNIFIL Mission will collaborate with the mission in Lebanon to oversee the distribution of funding to be dispersed directly to those in need.
Please give generously to this urgent appeal for families affected
