Continuing my Video Game Development Dream

To Any Potential Donors/Readers/Gamers:

Who am I?
Hello everyone! My name is Aaron Hernandez and I am currently a sophomore studying Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  People who know me tend to classify me as witty, extremely hardworking and ambitious! After becoming attached to video games in 2nd grade, my passion to become a video game developer was born.  Not a minute goes by where I'm not thinking about my future game development career. I play all different kinds of games, typically ranging from the late 1980's to present day.

It is my dream to create my own video game engine one day after I create a bunch of interesting indie games!

I recently created my own personal website that contains some of my programming work and my blog. My blog discusses game engines, video games, and all sorts of other computer science topics such as AI, VR, compilers, simulations, and even some math/physics topics in programming! I try and post to the blog everyday.

In the summer of 2018, I released my first FREE video game on called X-Squadron. I currently am creating games with Unity. X-Squadron is a browser-based fixed-shooter game where you play as "The Red Leader" of the X-Squadron through infinite waves of enemies. Each wave is completely randomized in terms of their positions. You can gather EXP points to purchase even cooler weapons at the Galactic Store. We are releasing a four-level Mission Mode to the game at the end of Summer 2020! My friend Steven Bajmakovich and I created dozens of assets for the game together, and I couldn't have done it without him.

What am I Raising Money For?
To me, it has always been my dream of becoming an indie game developer, but I'm quite out of luck with the supplies I need. I'm raising money for three different reasons:

1.) To receive some funding to create even better games than I have so far and to fund my future video game engine
2.) For helping me to improve my blog
3.) After college, I'm planning to start up my own video game/software development company in Colorado to make indie games. However, as you can probably tell, it is quite an expensive endeavor and very risky. I'm hoping I can save up for a creative office, some development equipment (computers, whiteboards, mocap suits, etc.) and for research opportunities!

All the funding that I receive helps me create even better games and I will sincerely thank every individual who takes the time to donate!

I have been taking college courses and online courses for the past two years to learn to program in Java, C++, C# and Lua. It would mean a lot to me to receive a little bit of extra money for my future software development company startup right out of college.

I also have been learning Unity and Blender 3D modeling in my spare time, and I love to study mathematics, physics and graphics. These are all skills I'm learning to assist the creation of future 3D games and my own game engine.

A Few Things to Remember!
I would be SUPER thankful for anyone who takes the time to donate for my future career in video games. It would mean so much to me if someone would be willing to help me out. I won't forget you!

I am really passionate about this field and I will invest all the time/money that is donated!  I do commit to a daily routine. In my spare time, I will play games (old and new) to learn more on how I can improve my own.

I will keep you updated. Stay tuned!

To anyone who appreciates gaming and to anyone who wants to see some AWESOME indie games in the future, please take the time to help me out!

Regards from a future game and software developer,
-Aaron Hernandez
