<div>En Nicaragua, donde la lucha por la <strong>libertad y la justicia</strong> no se detiene, hay una generación de jóvenes que se aferran a la esperanza de un futuro mejor. Son jóvenes valientes, llenos de sueños y aspiraciones, pero cuyos caminos hacia la educación se han visto abruptamente interrumpidos por <a href="https://www.amnesty.org/es/latest/news/2023/04/nicaragua-systematic-human-rights-violations-ortega-murillo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">una crisis sociopolítico que ha sacudido los cimie</a>ntos de su país desde el año 2018, con una represión estatal que ha socavado todas las libertades públicas y los Derechos Humanos.

<div><strong>Imagina a estos jóvenes, brillantes y talentosos, enfrentando la incertidumbre y el miedo mientras luchan por su derecho fundamental a la educación. </strong>Un centenar de ellos han sido expulsados de sus universidades, privados de su libertad académica y forzados al exilio, mientras que otros miran con desesperación las puertas cerradas de las instituciones educativas, <a href="https://www.infobae.com/america/america-latina/2023/12/23/adoctrinamiento-en-nicaragua-el-regimen-de-daniel-ortega-cerro-30-universidades-en-los-ultimos-tres-anos/#:~:text=De%25252525252520acuerdo%25252525252520con%25252525252520el%25252525252520informe,11%25252525252520cayeron%25252525252520en%25252525252520el%252525252525202023." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">decenas de universidades han sido confiscadas de m</a>anera arbitraria.

<div>Pero en medio de esta oscuridad, hay una luz de esperanza. <a href="https://www.ipuentes.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Somos Iniciativa Puentes por los Estudiantes de Ni</strong></a>caragua <strong>(Ipen), </strong>una asociación civil sin fines de lucro, y nuestra misión es clara: Construir puentes hacia la educación para jóvenes nicaragüenses. Desde propiciar el acceso de estudiantes a universidades en el extranjero, hasta crear programas de apadrinamiento estudiantil y ayuda humanitaria, Ipen ha estado haciendo todo lo posible para construir puentes hacia un futuro más brillante para la juventud nicaragüense.

<div>Sin embargo, la necesidad es abrumadora. Por cada joven que Ipen ha podido ayudar, hay muchos más que aún esperan su oportunidad, que sueñan con volver a las aulas, con perseguir sus metas académicas y profesionales, y con contribuir de manera positiva al futuro de Nicaragua; pero necesitan nuestra ayuda para hacerlo posible.

<div>In Nicaragua, where the struggle for freedom and justice persists, there's a generation of youth clinging to hope for a better future. They're courageous, full of dreams and aspirations, yet their paths to education have been abruptly disrupted by a <a href="https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/04/nicaragua-systematic-human-rights-violations-ortega-murillo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">sociopolitical conflict since 2018</a>, with state repression undermining all public freedoms and human rights.

<div>Picture these bright and talented youth facing uncertainty and fear as they fight for their fundamental right to education. A hundred of them have been expelled from universities, deprived of their academic freedom, and forced into exile, while others despairingly gaze at the closed doors of educational institutions, <a href="https://www.infobae.com/america/america-latina/2023/12/23/adoctrinamiento-en-nicaragua-el-regimen-de-daniel-ortega-cerro-30-universidades-en-los-ultimos-tres-anos/#:~:text=De%25252525252520acuerdo%25252525252520con%25252525252520el%25252525252520informe,11%25252525252520cayeron%25252525252520en%25252525252520el%252525252525202023." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">with dozens of universities arbitrarily seized</a>.

<div>But amidst this darkness, there's a glimmer of hope. We are <a href="https://www.ipuentes.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Iniciativa Puentes por los Estudiantes de Nicaragu</a> (Ipen), a non-profit civil association, and our mission is clear: to build bridges to education for Nicaraguan youth. From facilitating students' access to foreign universities to creating student sponsorship and humanitarian aid programs, Ipen has been doing everything possible to build bridges to a brighter future for Nicaraguan youth.

<div>However, the need is overwhelming. For every youth Ipen has been able to assist, there are many more still awaiting their opportunity, dreaming of returning to classrooms, pursuing their academic and professional goals, and positively contributing to Nicaragua's future; but they need our help to make it possible.
