Construction for Wheelchair Modified Bathroom

Donation protected
Hi friends and family!  I am making the the big leap to living independently for the first time since my accident almost three years ago!  This is a big step for a quadriplegic, but I'm confident that I have finally weathered the storm long enough to be able to manage my care and strike out on my own.

I have located an apartment in a newer complex in Kennesaw that has an accessible bathroom.  It is just 5 minutes away from my daughter Bailey, where she attends Kennesaw State, before transferring to Georgia Tech next year.  This is important for when I need help in emergencies or if one of my daily caregivers is unable to care for me.   She is amazing and I'm excited to be able to be closer to her.

The bathroom will still require modifications for a sink to roll under, and the tub will need to be removed and a roll-in shower installed.  Additionally the carpets will need to be removed, and vinyl flooring  put down in the rest of the apartment. This all comes at a significant cost to the tenant... hence why I'm here.  I appreciate any offers of sweat equity but the complex requires a fully insured and bonded and approved contractor to make the renovations.  They have offered $1,000 for what is called reasonable modifications under the Fair Housing Act.

I was reluctant to post a fundraiser like this, but I've had enough prodding to finally see it through and get on to the next step of life.  Thanks for all the support in advance.
