WHO WE ARE
I'm Fizza, I'm 17 and I'm from Wembley in Brent. Through a project called The Agency , which is taking place at Kiln Theatre as part of Brent 2020 London Borough of Culture, I have started my own project to make positive change in my local area. My project Consent First aims to broaden the amount of education young people get when it comes to consent, and what healthy relationships look like. I am working with my producer Gemma Rowan to make my project happen.
The Crime Survey for England & Wales recently estimates that 20% of women and 4% of men have experienced some type of sexual assault since the age of 16, equivalent to an estimated 3.4 million female victims and 631,000 male victims.
The Survey also showed that around 5 in 6 victims (83%) did not report their experiences to the police.
Consent First is raising funds to:
1. work with young people in Brent to create and publish an independent magazine with helpful information and advice, art work and inspiring stories, to raise awareness of what peoples rights are when it comes to consent, and sexual assault.
2. work with a Consent Facilitator to deliver workshops to groups of young people in schools looking at healthy relationship and what to do if they ever feel like they are in danger, or need help.
3. Run a competition where young people can create a design for a t-shirt, based on the knowledge they gain from the workshops and the magazine. They will have the chance to win their design on a t-shirt and a prize!
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO
This is something that all young people should get the chance to explore and understand the law and their rights. We need your help to pay to:
1. Develop, print and distribute 1000 free magazines to secondary schools in Brent.
2. Employ specialists to run 6 free workshops in schools with the aim being to test a new workshop model that we can eventually roll out across the borough to make a safe space for the issues around consent that young people so desperately need.
We need your help to make this happen!
If you donate more than £25 you will receive a free Consent First t-shirt and help
us raise awareness!

As part of Brent 2020, London Borough of Culture, a Mayor of London initiative, The Agency at Kiln Theatre supports young entrepreneurs between 15-25 years old develop ideas for social change in their area. We received professional training, support and advice to make our projects and benefit our local community.
The Agency runs nationwide and takes place in London, Manchester, Cardiff and Belfast.
