Our son Connor has loved savory flavors since he was a toddler... HOT SAUCE in particular!
He is now 10 Years-Old and is cooking up his own batches on a regular basis (And yes, they're damn good!) And so we are now working toward turning this obsession into an actual small business for him.
But there is a little more to it...
Connor has Muscular Dystrophy. While this diagnosis by no means defines him, or our family, it does limit his activity physically. However, his passion for great food, intense flavor, and serious cooking is limitless!
That said... Our ultimate goal is two-fold:
1. To create a profitable, independent, small-batch hot sauce business with delicious products that Connor can be proud of.
2. To give back to the Muscular Dystrophy community by contributing 10% of all profits to Muscular Dystrophy research, and other projects that benefit children with this disorder.
We are looking to get our HOT SAUCE game off the ground this winter & hit up as many street fairs and farmers markets as possible as the warmer weather approaches. We are also looking to sell to specialty retailers & launch an on-line store.
In the immediate future we need to cover a number of up-front costs for: Food handling licenses, specific cookware, bulk bottle purchases, custom labels, additional packaging, signage, displays, advertising... and the list goes on.
