No One Offline This Christmas – Help Us Say Yes
800% more people need our help this winter — but we’re running out of laptops.
We’re Tech-Takeback, a not-for-profit based in Sussex. We prevent reusable laptops from going to waste; collecting them from businesses and househoulders, securely refurbishing them and passing them on to people who are digitally excluded in Sussex and London.
These aren’t just machines — they’re a lifeline. They help people apply for work, study for qualifications, attend therapy, or simply reconnect with loved ones.
But right now, referrals from schools, community groups and our charity partners have surged by over 800%. For the first time in five years, we're having to refer people to waitlists, when they really need our help now.
We're appealing for more donated devices. But we need your support to fund spare parts and software for their repair and refurbishment.

People we support are facing real barriers — from job loss and homelessness to refugee resettlement and mental health crises.
What they need most is access.
And that starts with a working laptop.
Every laptop we deliver includes:
- Secure, GDPR-compliant data wiping
- Full hardware testing, repairs, and upgrades
- Windows 11 (or an equivalent supported OS) as standard
- Microsoft Office and other required software
- Data Internet Access (if required)
- Delivery to the recipient
- 1:1 digital skills support to help people use their device
- Social impact tracked and reported
We’ve done this safely and sustainably since 2019 — but this winter, demand is overwhelming our capacity.
