**UPDATE - 04-07-19**
Again, thanks to the contributions of donors through GoFundMe and additional fundraising campaigns held in Metro Vancouver, Canada, we were able to raise close to $2000 CAD to run a second Health Camp, which will be held on April 12th, 2019. We are very grateful for all the support!

**UPDATE - 03/18/19**
Thanks to our generous donors both through GoFundMe and in-person donations, we were able to raise $1500 CAD to run one Health Camp in Nepal, held on March 16th, 2019. We are currently raising funds for a SECOND Health Camp, hopefully to be put on by mid April. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this far!

We (Isabelle and Elisabeth) are Science undergraduate students from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. We are currently completing a cooperative education work term at Friends of Shanta Bhawan (FSB), Nepal.

FSB is a non-profit and non-governmental medical out-patient center in Kathmandu. For 36 years, our clinic has provided subsidized quality healthcare services to over 30,000 marginalized individuals per year.

Our clinic aims to host an annual health camp, which is a 1-day event where we provide free medical care to impoverished community members who are unable to afford even our lowered rates. With 29% of the country's population falling below the poverty line, this event alone makes a significant impact on many people's lives.

At the health camp, patients will be assessed by our qualified healthcare practitioners as needed, including doctors, nurses, and/or laboratory and medical imaging technicians. Patients of all ages will have full access to a variety of treatments such as antenatal care, vaccinations, and check-ups, free of charge. In past years, health camps have provided medical care to 300+ people in a single day!

FSB's health camps are fully funded through the generous support of donors from around the world. This will cover the costs of our healthcare practitioners and support staff, laboratory testing materials, medical imaging equipment, vaccines, medications, and administration/promotional supplies.

The health camp will be administered once we have reached our goal of $1,500 CAD, hopefully by the end of March 2019. Any additional funds will be put towards hosting an extra health camp day or towards a much-needed new x-ray machine, depending on the amount raised. If you are interested to help, please spread the word about our clinic, share this video, and/or donate. Every contribution makes a big difference and is very much appreciated!

With gratitude,
Isabelle, Elisabeth, and the FSB Family
