Conley Family Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Many of you reading this have seen Ronnie walking to drop off or pick up his five-year-old son Xander at the Hawthorn Elementary School. He always has a smile on his face and is more than happy to chat. You wouldn’t know to look at him, but he’s been battling for his life over the past year and a half.
In October 2016, at the age of 35 he was diagnosed with stage-four bowel cancer. Since that time, he has gone through chemo and has had three major surgeries. Sadly, the cancer is back and he’s just begun his second round of chemotherapy, which he will have to take for at least the next three months. Due to the cancer and aggressive treatments, Ronnie has been unable to work since his diagnoses. Needless to say, times have been financially tight for the Conley’s.
Ronnie and his wife Amanda have been staying strong for their children – Xander, one-year-old Maddox, and 13 year old Jaslynn. With another baby on the way, they are both excited and nervous about what this means financially down the road.
Originally from Shubenacadie, Ronnie enjoys spending time with his family and fishing. An animal lover, Amanda works part-time as a technician at the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital.
No donation is too little, every bit helps. Money will go towards the cost of medication not covered by insurance and to help with their basic household expenses.
As an incentive to those who donate there will be a draw on March 15, 2018 for a professional photo session offered by Word of Mouth Media. Valued at $450, the photo session can be used for family photos or professional headshots and is transferable.
Take a minute and think about if this was happening to your family, wouldn’t you want to know your community was rallying around you and those you love?
