The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a mineral rich country with a vast reserve of cobalt, copper, diamond, lithium, gold and oil playing a vital role in the global mining industry. In the past 30 years, over 8 million people have been killed. Numerous armed groups have competed with authorities for power and control of the potential fortune in this vast nation.

A silent genocide is currently happening in Congo. Millions have been displaced all so the western world can continue to benefit from Congo’s natural resources. Every hour 48 women and children are sexually assaulted, children are taken from their families and some are forced into war crimes. Despite their challenges, the people of Congo show resilience and still hope for a better tomorrow.

How can we benefit so much from a country yet leave them with nothing? As a Congolese women, I am aware of the ongoing crisis in Goma and Bukavu, where families are being displaced due to conflict and instability. It’s a reality that cannot be ignored, and it is a responsibility that we all should feel.

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart but also a profound sense of duty. Hello, my name is Irene and I am fundraising for Congo to provide essential support to camps, orphanages, schools, hospitals and the communities (families and children) who are suffering due to lack of financial aid, poverty, lack of access to education, healthcare, and basic infrastructure.

*Healthcare- With limited access to medical services, many in Congo are suffering from preventable diseases. Your donations will help provide medical supplies and outreach programs to those in need.

*Education- By funding schools and educational programs, we can ensure that children in Congo have access to the knowledge and skills they need for a brighter future.

*Emergency Relief: Congo unfortunately is frequently affected by conflict. The money raised will also fund emergency relief efforts for those displaced / affected by these crises. Providing clothes, food and shelter.
