10th Annual Family Conference Fund

Registration for the 10th Family Conference is now open!
2015 marks the 10th anniversary of the Family Conference – an annual symposium in Vancouver, BC, that presents groundbreaking clinical and practical information for family members, mental health and addiction service users and professionals.

This year, on Saturday, May 23rd, the conference is dedicated to the memory of our colleague, friend and mentor Jude Swanson, and will focus on ‘recovery’.  Health professionals, service users and family members will speak on topics related to recovery-oriented care, medications for mental illness and addiction, a toolkit for families who have a loved one struggling with concurrent illness as well as information about access to mental health programs and services in Vancouver.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  With growing expenses and an ever-stretched budget, we hope to raise $2500 to create a bursary fund that will ensure that families and service-users that can’t afford the price of admission can attend for free.  All dollars raised will go towards the establishment of this bursary and will ensure that no one is turned away.

As Jude once said, “It’s important to see real people who have struggled with mental illness who are not ashamed and are doing well.  For patients, knowing that you’re not alone is very important.  When you’ve had the opportunity to share and contribute, you become invested.”

Any gift is greatly appreciated.  $50 will pay for the price of one person’s admission and $150 will pay for a family of four.  Your generous support will be recognized and honoured at the conference.
