I am an artist and a researcher from Milano and I have been selected to partecipate to Anchoring New Cinema History, a HoMER conference which will take place in Nassau, the Bahamas, from the 26th to the 28th of June 2019.
I will present my research about cinemas in Milano from 1896 to 1955, with a focus on spectatorship, architecture and the relationship with the city. I have collected a huge and original archive (of roughly 110 cinemas) which I would be very happy to share. Moreover, I think it could be a great opportunity to build a network of researchers working on the same topic from different perspectives.
Flights from Italy to the Caribbean are very expensive and there is no funding. Any support will be very much appreciated.
