Concrete for Guardians Feet

Three of us will travel from Urbana, IL to Zomba, Malawi to build and workshop high effiicency wood cooking "rocket" stoves at the Guardian Shelter at their Central Hospital.  Smoke from traditional "3-rock" cooking stoves in Africa is a real problem. Note my photo.

Our friends at the Zomba City Council have requested we try to pour a concrete walkway and rebuild a concrete pad around the sole water point in the Shelter. Currently, as you can see, the women who are caring for loved ones in the Hospital have to stand in mud and washing debris to access clean water.

Estimates from our Zomba City Council friends came in way above what we can afford, non of us are "fundraisers" and are self-funding the travel ($4,000 each) already. They estimate the cost at $4500.

Your help before July 1 might let us help these hard working women.

Thank you.
