Cosmetology School

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am trying to raise money to help pay for the rest of my cosmetology school tuition. I do not qualify for financial aid so I have to pay for school all out of pocket. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 my job has cut back my shifts. I used to work full-time at a hair salon while taking night classes, but now I can only work part-time due to the decrease in hours. However, my school requires each semester to be paid off before registering for the next. This is where I need your help. I have been doing hair since I can remember: doing my friends homecoming and prom looks, helping any friend who needed a fun makeup look for a night out, families nails and eyebrow waxing, etc. I have always enjoyed creating art and being able to have the room to really be creative and provide a fun look that can be a temporary idea or a more long term project. In fact, I’m always up for more practice and would love to work on anyone’s hair, makeup, skin, etc. (Fair warning, I am still in school and not fully licensed lol) I chose this career path because it is something I love to do during my free time so why not get paid for it right? I currently go to Pickens Technical College in Aurora. I like the school so far and love all my friends in my class, and look forward to the rest of the year. I’m currently finishing up my second semester, then have two more after. So, I should be graduating by the end of 2021, unless COVID puts a halt to that. *Fingers crossed*. In class, I am learning: hair cutting, styling, coloring, chemical texture services (like perms), facials, hair removal services, manicures, pedicures, diseases and infections, proper hair and scalp care, braids, extensions, wigs, makeup, business, and chemistry. Pretty much the whole shabang. My goals with school are to finish school to get my certificate. Once I graduate, at the moment I plan on continuing work at the salon I’m currently at in order to get in the groove and learn more in the real world. After that, I hope to either move on to a more well known salon or to possibly open up my own salon or booth. I really appreciate any time you took to even read this! Anything helps!! Happy Holidays
