Computers & Music Band

Donation protected
I am a parent writing to you from a two-form entry primary voluntary-aided RC school in the heart of South East London. We rely mainly on donations and are currently trying to raise funds to provide our children with up to date IT equipment as our current systems are over a decade old and in no way fit to equip our pupils with the IT skills necessary to keep up with this new generations IT-focused economy. The computers we currently have take over 15mins to start up which cuts into the learning time for the pupils and due to the systems being so old they are limited as to what they are able to access. With your help we hope to acquire 30 computers and 30 iPad’s we estimate this cost to be £31,000.

We are also hoping to improve the Art’s at our primary school as we currently have limited access to instruments our pupils aren’t receiving any education when it comes to music. We hope with your help we can receive enough instruments to implement a school band and give the students an opportunity to express themselves in ways they currently unable to the estimated cost would be £4,000.

Being a voluntary aided school, we rely heavily on parents and teachers’ contributions to allow children to attend school excursions and extra -curricular activities as the funding from local government is limited.

We have recently introduced a school Trust Fund to support a Maths, English and Science homework subscription but, at present we can only afford to fund a Maths Subscription. This is due to many families not being able to contribute.

We have a large number of students who require social and educational support and at present, we do not have the tools to adequately assist them.

We have a large number of underprivileged and disadvantaged students in the Croydon Borough who fail to receive an adequate education simply because they are from this part of London and I feel as though it is about time someone stands up and calls for a change. Without sufficient education and resources, it is likely that these students will find it more difficult as they become teenagers and young adults to progress in this economy.

Our aim is to show them that with a good education ‘anything is possible’ we would like to deliver the best possible start for our children from Nursery through to Year 6 (5 – 11 years) however, to do this we need your help!

“We believe that all children should be given the chance to become the best possible versions of themselves.”

Also, if you know of any businesses, family or friends who would be willing to help in any way to please give them the ‘go fund me’ link to our page.

We are grateful for your invaluable time and support which you have
granted on these children we aspire to help and us.
