Help a very deserving student

This is Daniela. She lives in Paraguay. She and her sister are very much like daughters to me. I've known this family for 14 years. We talk almost daily and I help them whenever I can.

Paraguay is a place where people have no extra money. It's difficult to get by for many people there and keeping up with costs for rent and food and other needs can be a regular struggle. For most of us, that's hard to imagine. It's reality for people there. Paraguayans are also the nicest, warmest, most giving and loving people I have known.

Daniela started her college education last year. She is studing Architecture. She's standing next to her year end project in the photo above. This work was all done by hand. The faculty praised her work and said it was fantastic. Her sister told me constantly how hard she was working every day. I am extremely proud of her.

Here's my request. Starting this year, Daniela's work will be done on the computer. She needs to have a computer capable of doing CADD. It's going to have to be a fairly powerful machine. I do CADD for part of my job so I know what is needed. The computer and a couple of computer components is going to cost about $1,300. With shipping it's going to be close to $1,600 unless I can find someone going down there to take it for me.
