Completion of Footpath in Ballinamuck

Donation protected
The Community of Ballinamuck is coming together to raise funds for the completion of the new footpath from St Patrick's National School down to the village.

Total cost of this project is €240,000, grant funding has been received from the Department and Longford County Council for this project but the community must raise match funding in the sum of €24,000 as this is how this particular funding works for footpaths in all areas.  This money has to be raised as soon as we can,  If not, the money goes back to the Department which would result in a huge missed opportunity.

At a recent public meeting held on the 2nd July 2020 held to explain how the funding works , Community Groups and some businesses in the parish  came together and managed to raised  €14,000 between them to go towards footpath.

This is a great asset for the area and will link in with future plans that are in place for a footpath from Monaduff to Gaigue Cross. Once all works are successfully completed it will result in a completely safe walkway between Ballinamuck and Drumlish.

We are aware that it is a difficult time to hold fundraising events because of Covid-19 and so opted to start with this route.

We are asking the community, as a whole, to get behind this and give it your support.

All donations much appreciated.

Donations can also be given to Mary Breslin and Betty Creegan and a receipt provided if needed.
