Completing the Fairytale

Donation protected
I am Jeff and Katie’s brother, Joe, and would appreciate a bit of your time to share with you a story.  It starts on Valentine’s Day 2009, when Jeff and Katie began their story together. While they had known each other and had even attended the same high school, it wasn’t until that special day when kismet occurred.  From that day on Katie and Jeff only had eyes for each other, they grew in their relationship and as individuals, finding their way with Jeff as a Sous Chef and Katie as a hairstylist.

In June 2013 the family was blessed to be able to join together and celebrate their wedding.  At that moment none of us anticipated that this would be our last family event with everyone present. As all fairytales go, tragedy struck not just one side of the family but both in a short period of time.  Both Katie’s mom and Jeff’s mom, passed away following heroic battles with cancer. As we can all imagine such loss played an impact on their lives, but they continued to dream of having their own children that they could share stories with about their amazing mothers.

Unfortunately, after waiting years for nature to make it's own timing they realized they needed to seek answers as to why they had not conceived a child while trying for many years.  After multiple visits, and hundreds of dollars out of pocket, Katie and Jeff were told their only chance of having a child is through In-vitro fertilization (IVF). We all know how expensive healthcare has become, what you may not be aware of is that infertility treatments are rarely covered by health insurance.  This is the case for Jeff and Katie, all treatments and medications will need to be paid for by them out of pocket. They need to have half of the money upfront to even begin the process.

Jeff and Katie have been there for myself, Kim and Crystal as we raised/raise our children helping out in whatever way they can. We have watched them love and dote on ours and others children for years, we would love nothing more than to assist them in finding the funds to possibly have their own child. As family, friends and even generous strangers, I am hoping we can give up a little bit to help them out.  That money for a coffee or whatever you can spare will be so much more in helping attain their dream. I realize sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we are doing just what we can to get by on our own. If this is the case, we understand, but don’t think you can't help.  Share this fundraiser with your tribe, and encourage them to share it too. Doing this will allow someone in your tribe can reach out and help Jeff and Katie. Together, we can create the opportunity to add an amazing addition to their fairytale.
