The Power In You Project is a joint venture with Community Veracity who are a non for profit organisation already doing great work with Corrections Victoria and Work for the Dole.
In the recent years we are seeing the effects of what addiction mainly ice is having on individuals, families, local businesses and communities as a whole and the long lasting battles for everyone who is suffering, there’s the addiction itself, but where the real problems start is a lot deeper, these people suffering need our help so we can not only give them some self-worth again but make Geelong a better place.
Geelong is in desperate need for more services with the huge rise of individuals seeking treatments for addiction and the ever growing waiting lists this program will help ease the strain on services that already exist in the area.
The Power In You Project has been setup by Kane Nuttall a former addict who knows only too well how hard it can be to achieve recovery when your down and out. After acheiving recovery himself he is now on a mission to help others affected by this illness, he is extremely passionate after realising how devastating this issue really is for all involved. The program is setup to restore self-confidence, change ones thoughts about themselves, help create some direction for the future and gradually reintegrate our participants back into the work force.
We are looking to raise $200,000 to renovate and help get this program up off the ground by hopefully the end of March, 2017. On Little Fyans St South Geelong (behind AGB TRAINING) is an old weatherboard house that needs a bit of love, it’s in a great position for access to the community, only a five minute walk from the train station and multiple bus stops as well as being so close to all the facilities we will be using through our program. We are looking for the community to get on board and give generously to this fantastic cause whether it be donations or time it would all be a massive help and greatly appreciated, all of our sponsors will have their names or companies promoted on our website and a foundation sponsorship board at the premises.
