Fundraising for Solar Panels at Menīkānaehkem

Menīkānaehkem is an Indigenous-led grassroots non-profit organization located on the Menominee Indian Reservation, focused on rebuilding community through connecting to original land, language, and lineage of our ancestors. As Indigenous peoples we understand that wellness for our community is contingent upon reclaiming our story, strengthening identity, and creating spaces of healing and growth. We have been able to do that, and have achieved 501c3 status, hosted youth wellness camps, protected the Menominee River and Waters, built our teaching lodge, formed strong partnerships with community wellness agencies, planted and harvested natural foods, and hosted pre-contact feasts. 

Now, we are humbly asking you to help us put solar panels up at our community farm. These solar panels will not only reduce carbon pollution that causes climate change, but will also reduce or even eliminate our electric bill, meaning we can put more of our resources toward the amazing work we do.  With your donation we are helping grow connection to land and water, and in return restore Hope, Meaning, Belonging, and Purpose to our youth, elders, and families.
