<div><strong>What was supposed to be a joyful holiday season for Sofia's family </strong>quickly turned into a struggle to keep her family together. Sofia's husband went to a scheduled immigration appointment and, instead of returning home, was shuttled to a detention center without warning. Sofia did her best to help her 5-year-old daughter and teenage son make sense of this new reality without their father but was immediately faced with a new problem -<strong> now, her and her son are both facing their own removal proceedings.</strong>

<div>Sofia, who has lived in Virginia for almost a decade, is working tirelessly for her family to keep a roof over their heads, keep food on the table, and pay legal fees for her son, her husband, and herself. Despite the family's strength and determination, the financial and emotional toll has been devastating.

<div><strong>Help us raise $5,150 to cover their rent, groceries and a portion of their legal fees for the next month</strong>.
