Community Support for Sae Suh

Donation protected
For any of you who have met Sae Joong Suh, you know that he is the most caring, loving, and giving person we have on this Earth.  He has never asked for anything; he has never been that type of person.  He has always given and expected nothing in return.  Many of us know him as the guy who always calls our mom on Mother's Day - just to let her know he was thinking of them...

He loves his family.  His parents are his idols and his sister, Riji, is his best friend.  I've never once heard him say a bad thing about any of them.  He met his wife, Jesse, and he fell in love.  They adopted their dog, Odessa, and the family was complete!  They have been his rock during this really trying time and he is so fortunate to have them by his side!

Sae attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, and began volunteering at the summer camp operated by The Marist Brothers in Esopus, NY - The Mid-Hudson Valley Camp in the Summer of 1999.  He volunteered as a counselor at their Special Kids camps (for children, young adults, and adults with intellectual disabilities), at their Cancer Camp, at their Deaf Camp, and at  Camp Hope (for children born with HIV/Aids).  Sae eventually became the water safety instructor and ran the pool at the camp and also worked with the maintenance crew, which resulted in him volunteering his entire summer for many years.  In Esopus, is where many of us fell in love with his kindness, his incredible sense of humor, his compassion, and his positive energy.  If we had Annual Superlatives at camp, he would win 'Favorite Counselor', every year with no questions asked.

In July of 2019, Sae was feeling a shortness of breath and went to the ER where the doctors found a mass in his chest.  His doctors diagnosed him with Stage 3 non small cell lung cancer.  He began Radiation and Chemotherapy and although the tumors got smaller, the cancer spread aggressively.

Sae is now being classified as Stage 4 and his doctors have informed him that he has 2/3 months to a year.  Even with this awful news, Sae remains incredibly positive, saying that "I'm not giving up... I'm still in this fight..."

During this time, unfortunately, he has accumulated a LOT of medical bills, many of which him, his wife, and his family cannot cover.  Sae has never been one to ask for help, which is why he hasn't wanted to let people know.  However, these bills should be the last thing him and his family should be thinking about during the time that he has.

Anything you can do to help - whether it be to donate, or just to share with others who could help - would be appreciated.
