<div>My name is M.C. and my family and I are requesting communal support as we navigate difficult times and await a trial outcome for my husband who is currently in detention.

<div>My husband was detained back in April of 2025 . He was pulled over while driving in our hometown of Lawrence , MA.  He continues to be  detained and is awaiting a date for an  appeal process. 
</div>

<div>Unfortunately, our family went through a legal scam with our first attorney. We pulled money together with family and friends and paid a lawyer 8k. The “lawyer” took our funds but did not do anything to help my husband. Thanks to the help of a community fund we have been able to pay a retainer for a second attorney that is helping us appeal. However, appeal processes are difficult and take time. Our family is anxiously waiting a date and praying that my husband, my children’s father , can come home soon.

<div>I have two daughters. My oldest is currently in her last year of high school and my youngest is finishing up Elementary school, going on to middle school soon. They are both at critically important stages of their lives and my husbands detention has impacted them greatly. Since the detainment my daughters have been struggling in school as well as with mental health and emotional needs.

<div> My husband is an excellent father and he would take the girls to school every time he was able to. He would try to get off work early to help pick them up as I do not drive, he would worry about food being on the table, about them having their necessities. He would spend the weekends with our family. Sundays were special for my daughters as that was their day to go outings. They have a strong bond with their dad, and now they no longer have access to him. They worry about him, the outcome of the case, and we are all missing him dearly. My husband was the glue in our family.

<div>My husband use to work for a company and worked a 9-5, but also picked up extra shifts in the evenings to do uber and door dash to help cover our families expenses. I have become the sole provider for the family. I work odd jobs and my income is not stable,  secure, or gives me enough to pay for my families needs. 
</div>

<div>Trying to sustain ourselves while carrying the stress of being separated from my husband has been grueling. For this reason, we are asking for community support to help during this intense and stressful time. 
</div>

<div>Our families largest need right now is help with covering monthly expenses. My husband is also a diabetic and he requires a special diet so when we are able to we put money in his commissary to supplement his dietary needs. Things inside are not cheap and ideally we would be sending him out $100 a week so he can eat what he needs inside, but often times I am not able to cover that so I send what I can.

<div>My family and I continue to hold on to hope and that better times are ahead, for now we continue to do what we can.
