Home lost in Rainbow Flat fire Mid North Coast NSW

My name is Lucinda Fischer. My parents, Peter & Rosemary Ruprecht, have lost their beautiful home as a result of the Hillville bushfire on Friday the 8th of November.

The Mid North Coast of NSW, and in particular Hillville & Rainbow Flat, have been left devastated in the wake of unprecedented bush fires. There have never been this many emergency level fires occurring at once. The destruction is immense and currently immeasurable.

There is confirmed loss of homes at multiple properties in these areas. Not to mention sheds, gardens, vehicles, livestock etc.

Most residents in the area have barely walked away with an overnight bag, let alone any sentimental items. 

At this early stage we are unsure what is needed, but we have hundreds of people asking what they can do and how they can help. For now, the best that we can come up with is this page.

If you feel that you can contribute financially, that would be incredible. Anything would help.

We envisage the funds being utilised for anything my parents may need in the short term (accomodation, food, clothing, food for animals). They will be nominated as the beneficiary on the page, and will be able to withdraw the funds as they need.

Thereafter, any surplus money will be put towards anything they feel their surrounding neighbours may need. Then we will donate whatever else is left to RFS, SES & associated volunteers. They do a phenomenal job, which is not fully appreciated until you find yourself in a situation like this.  

If not, do you have building materials? Vacant homes available? Paddocks for livestock? Food for animals? Please get in touch if there is anything you feel you can offer. 

If you see someone who looks like they may need help, give them a cup of tea, a shoulder or a bed. 

We are all hoping for some reprieve over the coming days, and will try and work out how to support the community in whatever way we can once residents can start returning and assess the true losses.
