Independent Living starts with YOU!
Help us provide Life Skills education for adults with disabilities who wish to live on their own but do not currently have the proper skill sets to do so and just need that extra support to get there. Independent Hearts is the only program in Guelph and the surrounding area created to allow individuals to practice living on their own in their own space before fully committing to moving out. We work with each participant on their specific goals/needs for independent living. Please help us assist more people in reaching independence.
What will your donation be used for?
Putting ten adults through the Independent Hearts program over the next 2 years who wish to participate but may not have the funds. These individuals deserve the access to these tools and learning experience as there is such limited resources in the Guelph and surrounding area focused on Life Skills education for adults with developmental disabilities. Independent Hearts is filling that gap.

What is Independent Hearts and who is it for?
Independent Hearts is new program run through the Guelph not-for-profit Community of Hearts for people with developmental exceptionalities to experience living independently and build independent living skills. We offer one-on-one support and a safe space for participants to learn and practice skills they need to live independently.
We customize the program to each participant, helping them learn the skills they need the most so they can feel empowered and confident living independently.
Why support this program?
We believe in advocacy, opportunity and independence for all our participants and all people with developmental exceptionalities. We hope you do too, and that's why we are looking for your support. This is the first program of its kind in Guelph and the surrounding area. The skills learned through this program are integral to empowering those with developmental exceptionalities and we need community support to get more participants through the program and out into the community who would strive in this program. By supporting this program, we are showing the community at large that this kind of support is needed and is important to our community and everyone who represents it.
What perks/recognition will I or my company receive for donating?
If you are a business: You will have your corporate/business name displayed on our printed and electronic promotional material for the Independent Hearts program (including an individualized thank-you across our social media pages). We also offer with a larger sponsorship donation; your business can name any room in the Independent Hearts program space!
If you are an individual: You will know you are helping individuals who deserve the proper education in Life Skills along their journey to living independently.
