Community Meal Fundraiser

Saint Andrew's Uniting Church Community Meal provides a two course meal to the vulnerable in our city. Each week we serve 60-100 hot nutritious meals prepared by volunteers. When possible we also provide guests with toiletry essentials, in winter we offer blankets, socks, beanies. We also try to provide books and treats in the event that children are in attendance. The Meal is not funded and relies completely on donations and the occasional grant.
Due to COVID-19 we have had to transition from providing a sit down meal to our guests to providing a take away meal. The main meal is still a hot meal, the package contains a cold drink, dessert and snacks. The packaging alone has seen our costs increase by 84%.
The meal operates purely on the commitment of our volunteers.
This meal is provided to people who are homeless, living in social housing or boarding houses or people who are simply doing things a little tough at this time. All funds raised will help us continue to purchase the packaging that we need and also in the purchasing of food and some essentials for our guests.
By raising these funds we are guaranteed to be able to operate into the new year, that means that we will be able to support the people, our guests, who look forward to the meal.
We would be deeply grateful for any donation.
