Community Parental Leave for Megumi

X is a nurturer and free spirit many of us are lucky to have gone on adventures with, shared a beer, seen a band, watched movies, or wandered around Manhattan with. She is expecting a baby in late July.
X has made some incredible moves to make way for her baby. She has moved to a different apartment, she has battled through the bureaucracy that is medical care in this country to get health coverage for herself and her baby, gone to her prenatal appointments, met with various immigration lawyers, talked to relatives in Mexico about returning. and has done this mostly by herself. Through the stress of it all, she has prioritized the health and future of her baby.
X's job is off books, so come July she will not be eligible for maternity leave. Anytime she takes off for her body to heal from childbirth, will be unpaid. We are requesting for friends, ex lovers, and the overall community to make it possible for X to take some time off to heal and bond with her baby after giving birth. Money raised will help pay rent, ointments, food, diapers, baby clothes and the first few months, which is often an intense period for new parents.
