Little Free Library Boxes in Kemah, TX. Houston
I'm raising money for 2 Little Free Library boxes.
I have already built and installed one of them in my neighborhood of Glen Gove in Kemah, TX and I hope to raise enough money to help offset the cost of that one, PLUS buy another one to install in some other yet-to-be-determined nearby neighborhood.
My cost to build and install the one that I just built was just over $350, including materials, paint, wood, post, concrete, LittleFreeLibrary.org registration tag, etc. You can see the picture of it below! This took a couple of weeks of evening time to build, paint and install.
I am also hoping to raise enough funds to buy a pre-built one from LittleFreeLibrary to install in another community in the Houston area as well.
With more people staying home these days due to the COVID pandemic reading has been growing again in popularity. Providing free books in an easy and convenient way opens many possibilities for education and entertainment for youth and adults.
Including shipping costs, the price to buy a Little Free Library kit from the LittleFreeLibrary.org website is about $400. Adding in the cost of installation (a 4x4 post, concrete and various building supplies), plus an initial stock of books brings the total close to $450 This cost will also include registering the box(es) with the Little Free Library online map, too!
Please help to offset the the cost of the one I've already bought, plus buy another one to help another community.
The goal is to raise $800 for 2 Little Free Library book-share boxes: $350 for the one I already installed and $450 to purchase a new one.
Shown below are screenshots showing the price and shipping costs directly from www.LittleFreeLibrary.org This price does include registry with the LittleFreeLibrary network, but does NOT include the cost of the post and concrete and installation...and of course, the books!
