Community fund for Paul "astz" McGarrity

Today we lost a legend.

It pains me deeply to say this, many of you know him from his competitor days, being among the world's top UT players in peak competition during the glory days of UT.

Paul "astz" McGarrity passed away last night.

Paul was not only an amazing player but also an amazing person and father.

He was always a joy to have within the community.

Paul cared deeply about Unreal Tournament and the community. In 2011 he hosted a "reunion" event in Scotland that he did not even play in himself as he was too busy hosting the event and making sure everything was running smoothly. This just shows the kind of person Paul was.

Paul leaves behind his long-time girlfriend Kathleen and their three children Quinn, Katelyn and William.

When I posted on the UT2004 community FB page, it was amazing to see how many lives Paul touched.

Paul was very liked in our community and everyone was always happy to see him on Discord or the servers.

People also reached out to me asking, "where can I support his family?".

So I have decided to start this GoFundMe page to help support the family with the funeral costs attached to this tragedy. Let us come together once more as a community and help soften this blow, if only by a tiny bit with some monetary support. Every donation will go directly to Kathleen.

He will be forever missed.
