Community based healthcare in PR

We are dedicated to providing community level care to all Puerto Ricans to achieve and maintain their health and facilitate access to services while our country is recovering towards a culture of health and general wellbeing. I am a Physician born, raised, trained and practicing in Puerto Rico who have had the fortune of meeting an interdisciplinary group of individuals who have been donating their time an much more to provide continuity of care, access to medications and mental health and emotional support to our fellow Puerto Rican's while the health care infrastructure is still to be able to resume their role. We are identifying the needs of the community through leaders and barrio residents who guide us to where there are people who need help. Funds provided would be used to ensure sustainability of this effort over time by covering transportation cost both of the team as well as patients who we may need to transport to access the type or level of care they need, equipment such as solar powered inverters to assist patients who are technology dependent, nutritional assistance, medications, play therapy for children (including the purchase of equipment needed to provide it), distributing water filters, mosquito nets and other pest control equipments, and much more as we are focused on addressing the needs of the community as they identify them to be and in recongnition that managing the social determinants of health are as important than the direct provision of healthcare itself.
